David Parsons is often-times referred to as the "Edmund Hillary of music producers". The intrepid traveler has over three decades recorded a simply amazing body of music, from Turkey to India and from Indonesia to Armenia. Much of what he had heard and recorded showed up later in his intensely personal style, transfigured over time in his own electronic music. Born in New Zealand and still living there when not on the road, he has made a unique and irreplaceable contribution to the catalogue of Celestial Harmonies. He has produced more than fifty album and recorded close to twenty titles with his own music.

   These five albums from Bali, Java and West Java were originally recorded to fit into The Music of Islam edition but as the repertoire originated from pre-Muslim periods, they were issued separately.
